The Legend of Zorro

Image galleries / Projects

In 2004 Josh lived in Mexico for 10 months to work on this film for Kiwi director, Martin Campbell. Based in the historic hacienda, El Gogorron that was built in the 12th century. He built the 2 largest sets on the entire project. The first was an 18th century french Versailles garden and courtyard directly in front of the hacienda. This comprised of over 40,000 buxus hedge plants and a handmade clay dance floor complete with gas lamps, a bridge and ponds. This set took 69 men 14 weeks to complete and still remains today as a gift to the owner.

The second set was an entirely artificial vineyard spanning 5 acres in area and consisting of 5,000 grape vine plants and 100,000 artificial grape vine garlands.
